Making the tween scene

I was never a tween. As a child of the '80s and early '90s, I don't recall being shoehorned into a demographic category with a cutesy name. In those days, pre-teenagers weren't setting trends in commerce, music or fashion. We were an under-served niche market. No one salivated over our "buying power."

On Sept. 25, the state will launch Operation Take Back NJ, an initiative that provides a safe and legal way of disposing unwanted, unused and expired medicines. The Drug Enforcement Administration NJ Division is behind this program.
